I found the lump in my left breast in June 2014. I was diagnosed with IDC Type 2A on July 30, 2014 via breast biopsy. Then to find the cancer had spread through to one of my lymph nodes. I chose to have a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Thereafter I endured radiation and chemotherapy and finally finished chemo on June 30, 2015. What a "journey" it was!! My life changed forever!
Prior to being diagnosed with breast cancer, I was married, had a good job, active and healthy. After cancer, I am now single, "cancer free", a much better job, head full of hair (LOL), active and healthy! I'M A SURVIVOR (in my Destiny's Child voice) I kicked breast cancer's butt! It picked the wrong Divine Diva!

I do have to give a resounding "thank you" to extremely supportive family and friends, the great team at Gwinnett Center for Cancer Care, GMC and the GMC Cancer support Group!! A huge round of applause to all survivors and supporters of survivors!!
