Tell the world who you are! My name is Paris smith. I am a medical assistant at a surgery center. I have multiple sclerosis since 2015. I like to add that because aside from it being apart of my story, it actually equipped me to fight breast cancer.
How did you learn about your diagnoses? I discovered my lumps on my own. I had two lumps on the right side. One which was the size of a golf ball and the other about the size of a quarter.

What type of treatment did you receive? I received chemotherapy which was 12 weeks, right breast mastectomy and radiation therapy after that.
How is life now as a breast cancer survivor? I am so glad to be on the other side of survivorship. I do have my days where I’m like “I really fought breast cancer” but I’m thankful and grateful for the journey. To know every time I share my story I’m helping someone else.
What has breast cancer taught you about yourself? It has taught me that I am resilient. It taught me despite fighting a disease such as triple negative breast cancer I am truly a fighter and a positive light.
Advice or words of encouragement you would like to share with the breast cancer community. Cancer does not define you. It is simply apart of your story. Know that you are human and will go through the motions of having cancer but it doesn’t not make you or break you. You are strong and you have a story to tell in the end.
